We have an exciting programme for Turriff Show 2012. On Sunday one of the highlights is the Grand Parade of Horses, Ponies and Donkeys and on the Monday you can witness one of the best displays of livestock in Scotland for the Grand Parade of Cattle and Clydesdale Horses.

Both days host horse events including Pony Carriage Driving on the Sunday and British ShowJumping Adult and Junior Show Jumping on the Monday. This year Turriff will again host the North of Scotland Junior Show Jumping Championships.

One of the main attractions this year is Inch Perfect – two highly enthusiastic and accomplished young trial stunt riders, with breath taking skills and balance. Performing tricks and jumps up massive vertical steps and tackling a whole variety of impossible looking objects as well as other jaw dropping manoeuvres you wouldn’t even think possible on two wheels. Add to that the good humour of the commentator, a participating crowd and we have a Show to remember!

Turriff Show wouldn’t be the same without the Sheep Show and New Zealander Stuart Barnes will be back lining up his sheep on each day of the Show for a sheep race in the main arena! There will be four performances each day of the Sheep Show itself, which is educational and most entertaining to watch.

The Olympic Games will be celebrated ‘Turra’ style coinciding with the London event. The Turralympics will feature children’s and adult’s races plus relay races on both days with medals and prizes for winning athletes. There will also be a Children’s Pet Parade each day with free entry - don’t miss out!

Sulky Racing will be back again to thrill the crowds. Some top class horses will be appearing and we look forward to some hotly contested races.

Turriff Show now hosts one of the largest Vintage and Classic Vehicle displays in Scotland! This year 150 models will make their way round the ring on the Sunday evening – a sight not to be missed! There will also be an interesting static display.

If you are interested in music then there will be something for everyone. On the Sunday afternoon the well known Turriff and District Pipe Band will play at the Show and Deveron River Brass is returning for a third year. There will also be a variety of other bands and groups from the Aberdeen International Youth Festival playing at the Show.

If you like to watch Highland Dancing then you will be treated to an outstanding array of dancers, including some National title holders on the Monday (dancing under S.O.B.H.D. rules). The Highland Dancing competition now takes place in a marquee near the main car park.

Tug of War enthusiasts can look forward to a Tug of War Competition confined to members of Young Farmers Clubs (teams of 6) on the Sunday afternoon.

Look out for the Open Dog Show (closing date for entries 7th July) on the Sunday or take your dog along to the Companion Dog Show on the Monday (entries on the day).

The Show closes on Sunday evening with a Mission Praise Service held in the Den Pavilion at 6 30 pm.
