The 2026 Presidential team for Turriff Show were elected into their new roles during the Associations annual general meeting.
Turriff District Agricultural Associations annual general meeting took place on Wednesday 10th December 2025. An audience of over 60 committee members attended the evening which began with an overview of the 2025 show and ended with the election of the new Show Presidential team.
Retiring 2025 Show President John K. Ledingham said, “It has been an honour to be the 2025 President of Turriff Show, but it has been a difficult year in more ways than one. Sunday started off wet but by lunch time it had dried up, and the crowds were filling the stands. But unfortunately, it wasn’t to be – Storm Floris causing us to close the show early on the Monday.”
John then went on to give an overview of the show and then thanked the show Foreman Ricky Mackie and his team, the ground crew; Nigel Bacon and team, Electrician, Garry Cowie and team, Plumber and Steven & Ross Moir, Joiners, for all of their hard work and continued support of the show.
Another heartfelt thank you was extended to all of the show sponsors, new and old, for their continued support. With a special mention to Balmaud Distillery as Main Show Sponsor for 2025.
John finished with a very special thank you, “Special thanks goes to Duncan, Julie, Andrew, Amy and their families for all their work, support and assistance over the year. I would also like to thank the office staff, Lorna, Clare, Debbie & Ian for all their work through out the year. Last but by no means least I would like to thank my family; Lyndsay, Kym, Amber and John for all their help and support during my time on the top table. Thank you all very much.”
On acceptance of the Presidential role, 2026 Show President Duncan Gray, said, “It is a great honour to be nominated the president for the 2026 show. I would like to thank the committee and John for giving me this opportunity. I follow in the footsteps of a few family members with a Great Grandad, both grandads and three cousins who have all been past presidents. It is a great family connection for me.”
Andrew Ferguson, stepped into the Senior Vice President Position and said, “Thanks Duncan, it’s a great honour to be moving up to be senior vice president. I will do everything I can to support you through next year’s show. Thank you.”
Rachel Sharp, proudly comes onto the Presidential team as Junior Vice President. Rachel said, “Thank you very much Andrew for proposing me, I will do my very best to support you in two years’ time and Duncan next year. I will do my best to lead a successful show in three years’ time, thank you”
